Aeroflot's Russian Far East subsidiary, Aurora, which was formed in 2014 from Vladivostok Avia and SAT Airlines is set to double its current fleet by 2018. Currently the airline operates 22 aircraft, including A319's, B737's, DHC-8's and two DHC-6-400's (with another awaiting delivery in Canada).
Pending successful agreement with the Government of the Russian Far East regions, the carrier plans to increase its DHC-6 fleet to 14 aircraft by 2018. Aurora is looking at the possibility of re-establishing flights in the North Sakhalin region with the cooperation of the regional administrations of the area.
