Used as a skydiving jumpship in France since 1984, it was offered for sale via tender from open storage in May-2011. It was registered to Ashe Aircraft Enterprises of Calgary, AB on 27-Sep-2011 however it did not leave Europe until Dec-2011:

Given the new registration allocation I'd expect this one will end up with Flanagan Enterprises (Nevada) operating for the Parachute Center in Lodi, CA. Those aircraft are historically registered with combinations of the MSN + _D (example MSN 73 N73WD) recognizing the family name of Parachute Center owner Bill Dause.

 

Coincidently, DHC-6-100 MSN 99 N990KD returned to Springbank, AB on the same day that MSN 153 was registered N153KD - so a swap of a -100 series for a -200 series aircraft appears probable.

On return from repainting in Arkansas the aircraft was transferred to Alberta Aircraft Leasing as N990KD, and subsequently leased to Flanagan Enterprises (Nevada), where it flew for the Parachute Center in Lodi, CA.

The aircraft is seen below climbing out of Lodi, CA in July 2011. Certainly looking much better than it did back in March.

Incident Report

324 - DHC-6-300 FAP-317 Fuerza Aerea del Peru

Date: 09.03.12
Location: Laguna de Caballococha, enroute from Iquitos

While landing on Caballo Lake, at Caballococha, the aircraft touched down  hard resulting in a failure of the right float. Although everyone was able to successfully evacuate the aircraft, two persons received injuries. There were 12 onboard (3 crew + 9 passengers). The aircraft suffered considerable damage and subsequently sank.

FAP-317 was delivered to Fuerza Aerea del Peru in September 1971

From that point, it was briefly registered in the U.S. as N67SA, then to YN-CHQ, and finally coming back to Canada in 2012.

Originally shown on regulatory documentation as MSN 389 and imported to Canada on 06-Mar-2012 without ownership or registration details. The actual correct MSN for the former YN-CHQ is 766, owned by Calgary's Unity Group, and acquired from Winair in 2011.

 

The aircraft can be seen in the picture below prior to leaving the U.S. to Nicaragua on lease to Nica Wings.

MSN 119 N323SJ has left the Skydive Spaceland facility on return to Desert Sand Aircraft Leasing, and was initially ferried up to Springbank for some required maintenance items to be taken care of. After a stay of a few days, the aircraft has now left and is currently routing towards Keflavik, Iceland.

 

N323SJ has been operating in North America, mostly as a skydiving aircraft since 2008 upon it's return from Africa, where it had been since 1996.
