N223AL left Canada last year in October following operation by Parachutisme NouvelAir, and positioned to a warmer home in the southeastern U.S. We last covered it back in December 2012 as it moved from Brownsville, TX into Mexico. where it remained until late January, 2013.
The move north to Canada has taken place again over the past several days as it departed Brownsville on 22-Apr-2013, and arriving in Bromont, QC in the early hours of 27-Apr-2013.

Test flown at Springbank, AB 23/24-Apr-2013 following lengthy rebuild. This aircraft crashed on approach to Hook Lake, NT on 16-Jul-2008, and was subsequently registered initially to Beau Del Leasing in Jan-2009, and then transferred to Ashe Aircraft themselves on 22-Jan-2013 as the rebuild neared completion.
Once test flying is completed the aircraft will likely need to be repainted, prior to delivery to its new Canadian operator.
647 - DHC-6-300 TG-JCA Aero Ruto Maya S.A., Guatemala City
Registered to Bank of Utah Trustee, Salt Lake City, UT 24-Apr-2013 as N360CM on return to CAAMS LLC, Rutherfordton, NC. This aircraft has been flying in Guatemala since early 2009 for Aero Ruto Maya, serving the Marlin gold mine owned by Canadian company Goldcorp.

Clipped trees immediately after take-off from Nathong, Laos and crashed in a canal. The aircraft was en route from Nathong to Vientiane, and was carrying 16 passengers and 2 crew. All occupants survived the accident with varying degrees of injury.
RDPL-34180 was delivered to Lao Air Company in Dec-2011 after being previously owned by ARAMCO since 1969.

Hevilift's P2-KST was up on a local test flying sortie from their maintenance base in Cairns, QLD on 20-Apr-2013, and seen below on approach to runway 33. It appears that the aircraft has been present in Cairns since 27-Nov-2012.
Transferred to Pacific Sky Aviation Inc., North Saanich, BC and registered 17-Apr-2013. This is the second Vietnam Navy aircraft which is currently being utilised (and flying regularly) in support of training the Customer's personnel.

On landing at St. Anthony, NL the nose gear failed after making contact with the runway surface. The aircraft subsequently swung to the left & departed the runway. The aircraft sustained damage to the nose area, and one wingtip.

While departing from the Mile 203 Dempster Highway Airport, YT the aircraft yawed to the left with the left gear entering shallow, then deeper snow. The take-off was rejected, and the aircraft left the runway, and came to stop in a ditch. Damage was sustained to the left propeller due to a tree strike.

We've just added this one to Twin Otter Archive as well; the existing files for the history of MSN 212 don't show this lease, and consequently it was a surprise to find this picture. AirExec was based at Ocean City, Maryland, flying from the metropolitan DC area to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware and Ocean City. The Twin Otter was operated for just the summer of 1973, and at the end of the season it was sold to ERA Helicopters in Anchorage.

A few historical pictures for a Friday afternoon. Two nice air-to-air shots from the DHC files, then one from the U.K. and one from Mexico.
MSN 288 was delivered to Transportes Aereos Orientales of Ecuador in July 1970 and remained there until 1973. Operated by no less than another seventeen companies in the meantime, it is currently with Maldivian Air Taxi as 8Q-MBG.

MSN 561 was delivered to Greenlandair in 1978, where it remained for the next thirty-two years. Coincidently, this one is also currently with Maldivian Air Taxi, where it has become 8Q-MBE.

MSN 516 was delivered to the U.K.'s Taylow Woodrow Towell engineering & construction firm in 1976. It went on to fly with Schreiner Airways, then to Papua New Guinea for Talair, Flight West in Australia, and finally back to PNG for Airlines PNG in 2005 as PQ-MCS

MSN 237 was delivered to Transportes Aereos Terrestres S.A. in the state of Durango, Mexico in Jun-1969. There are not a lot of Twin Otters that have maintained single ownership over their lifetime, but XA-TAT has been with it's original operator for the past forty-four years.
