The Gravitas DHC-6-200HG C-FFNT is currently still on the ground in Calgary awaiting delivery to the Maldives, and can be seen below in the photo from Dave Subelack.

Lack of Recent Updates

Hello everybody, and thanks to those who have been in contact with editorial/photo contributions or just wondering why it is so quiet. 

Yesterday I was released from the hospital after having had a stroke, coincidentally a matter of minutes after completing the blog entry below. Prognosis of recovery is promising, but it will be slow. Hopefully over the next couple of days I can resume some work on  the blog, because it is something that is both manageable and enjoyable under the current circumstances. 

What I can't do however is take on the other two parts of my home business, which generate 95% of the income. So, in the interim, anyone who is able to donate, please be assured that there is never going to be a time when it is more appreciated than now.

Maldivian Delivery Continues and N400GZ nears the Middle East

Since Apr-2014 a further four Twin Otters have been added in the Maldives, with three for Island Aviation Services, and one for Trans Maldivian. C-GKBQ will become the fourth for Island Aviation Services, and the fifth, a Series 200HG (MSN 226 C-FFNT) is ready to depart from Calgary as well. 

The 46th Twin Otter for Trans Maldivian, MSN 372 C-FTWU is also currently being made ready for delivery from Canada.

Today, C-GKBQ continues on to Keflavík, and has filed for departure to Malmö tomorrow.

Solomon Islands Update, MSN 913 arrives in Victoria

Pictured taxiing at Honiara, Solomons DHC-6-300 H4-SID (MSN 442) will be out of airframe life at some point next week, and is expected to be flown to Cairns, QLD for re-life package carried out by Hevilift. H4-SID has been in the Solomons since 1994, and was originally delivered to Air Mauritius in 1974 as 3B-NAB

Also at Honiara, seen under tow is DHC-6-300 H4-OTA, still in the basic Airlines PNG colour scheme. Although we don't have a serial number for this aircraft it appears the likely candidate is MSN 280, the former P2-MCV. This aircraft last flew for Airlines PNG on 11-Sep-2013, and was subsequently ferried via Buka, PNG to Honiara on 26-Oct-2013.

C-FAFI arrived in Victoria this afternoon, and although I don't have a picture of it yet, I understand it is for the United Arab Emirates.

The Berry Twins

As I had been looking for some photos of the Berry Aviation Twin Otters to add in the Operator Directory, I ran across these two good examples. Since we haven't featured them before, here are two of their three Twin Otters arriving in St. John's, NL last year Both were being positioned from Texas to sub-Saharan Africa under government contract. The third aircraft remains in the U.S.A.

The third version of N400GZ has departed Raleigh this afternoon, bound initially for Bermuda. This is the first time for this routing on a transatlantic crossing bound for the United Arab Emirates Joint Aviation Command. N400GZ had flown from Victoria, BC to Louisburg, NC on 10/11-Oct-2014 for pre-delivery work.

C-GVEP from Deer Valley, AZ to Mexico ?

Filed a short while ago for departure from Deer Valley, AZ (which is in the northern part of Phoenix) to Chihuahua, Mexico is DHC-6 C-GVEP.

The problem is that C-GVEP is currently DHC-6-400 MSN 915, which shouldn't have left the factory in Calgary as yet, considering 914 is still there, and 913 just left there for painting on 21-Nov-2014. The previous use of C-GVEP was way back to MSN 881.

I'm suspecting this might actually be MSN 910, which departed Victoria on 26-Nov-2014 as FAP313, particularly as the Peruvians have used Deer Valley as an en route stop on earlier deliveries. 

SVG Air's C-GKPV in Saint Vincent

The latest Twin Otter for SVG Air is pictured below at the company facility in Saint Vincent. The aircraft remains in the colour scheme of Indonesian operator PT Air Borneo, which had originally expected the aircraft.

Aircalin (Air Caledonie International) DHC-6-300 F-OIAQ is seen in a series of pictures below. It is one of two operating between the Islands of Wallis (Uvea) and Futuna which are located in the French Collectivity of the same name. The islands are located between Tuvalu, Fiji, Tonga and Samoa.
